History-loving grandmother graduates at 74

4 p.m., May 26, 2007—

“I think what really motivated me to finish up and graduate was the fear that when I die my obituary would say I was still a senior at the University of Delaware,” Joe Ann Knauss, a very young and lively 74-year-old, said with a laugh. “I had no idea it would lead to my 15 minutes of fame,” the oldest member of UD’s Class of 2007 added.

Knauss said she has no plans for a career change and looks forward to continuing her part-time work at the Brandywine Hundred Library.
